Moushumi Hamid is one of the rare Bangladeshi models and actresses who worked beyond the territory of Bangladesh. She is one of the few heartthrob heroines in Bangladesh now.
Moushumi Hamid was born in Tala, Satkhira. She was brought up there and got her education there, including SSC and HSC from the local school and college. After completing the HSC exam, she moved to Khulna for getting higher education in Management Studies from Azam Khan Commerce College. After that, she came to Dhaka for entering the showbiz arena.
She came into limelight after taking part in the Lux Channel I Superstar competition in 2010. She stood second in that competition, making a strong appearance in Bangladeshi media. After that, she performed with Akshay Kumar, the famous Bollywood superstar at Dhaka. After that show, everyone knew about her. She got a chance in a TV serial in West Bengal, India called “Roshni”. This TV serial was a huge hit both in Bangladesh and India. Channel I (Bangladesh) and ETV (India) jointly telecasted that drama.
She acted in many Bangladeshi Bangla Natok also. Her first drama was “Biyog Fol”. Then she acted in “Bangla Amar Matribhasha”. She acted in many other dramas like Nurjahan, Dead End, Den Mohor, Juwa Rashi, Terminal, Capsule 500mg, Jol Chobi, Metro Life, Boiri Batash, Varsity etc. She became very popular in Bangladesh very soon.
She also has a dream of acting in Bangla movies. But, she wants good scripts for that. Now, she is working in her debut film called Blackmail.
